Shoebox to showcase

Shoebox to Showcase (diaorama) is a 5-day performance design and artist development program where young artists explore how stage design, visual storytelling, lighting, atmosphere, and performance aesthetics work together to shape a live performance experience.

as a shared creative reference point, participants will study how artists use stage environments, visual elements, audience engagement, and performance energy to communicate identity, confidence, and connection.

Using a Goofy Movie “I2I (Eye to Eye)”

A group of children and two adults posing indoors in front of a large window with a brick building outside. The group is smiling and making gestures like peace signs. The walls are textured and partially brick, and there is a clock on the wall showing 3:00.

Through guided creative exploration, students will learn the fundamentals of performance-centered stage design

while developing their own artistic interpretation of the music and performance experience. Each participant will design and build an original miniature shoebox stage production inspired by the song, using scenic elements, staging concepts, lighting ideas, props, color palettes, and atmosphere to create a unique visual performance environment.

Throughout the program, participants will explore how creative choices shape audience experience and help artists tell stories through performance design.
